ABOUT THE MEETING
This symposium is structured to provide a clinical perspective on the use of injectable agents and energy-based devices for facial aesthetic enhancement. The role of these agents, devices and technologies will be discussed in the context of patient selection and evaluation, treatment planning and their role in advanced applications. Edited videos and/or live demonstrations will supplement most of the presentations. Additional sessions on cosmetic periorbital surgery and aesthetic practice development will complement this year's meeting. The faculty have been chosen for their teaching ability, as well as for their clinical expertise.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This CME activity should benefit Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons, Oculoplastic Surgeons, Facial Plastic Surgeons and those who desire an advanced education with the use of injectable agents, energy-based devices, cosmeceuticals and aesthetic periorbital surgery for facial enhancement.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:
· Evaluate compositional differences of varied injectable agents and indicate where the different injectable agents are best applied.
· Compare differences of the multitude of energy-based devices / “lasers”, explaining how they work, and how appropriate patient selection is used to determine the best fit for a particular device.
· Discuss the latest concepts of facial and periorbital aging and surgical techniques regarding periorbital surgery that are aesthetic and effective.
· Perform a comprehensive facial aesthetic analysis to determine which areas would benefit from treatment with injectable agents, energy-based devices, cosmeceuticals, surgery or a combination of these techniques to achieve optimal results.
· Select the appropriate agents, devices, products, surgery or a combination of treatments that would be best suited for various areas targeted for treatment.
· Apply anesthetic techniques to optimize patient comfort with treatments.
· Implement state of the art protocols for injection techniques, laser delivery and surgical procedures to optimize patient outcomes.
· Avoid and manage complications arising from the use of injectable agents, energy-based devices or surgery.
· Describe the requirements used to maximize consumer awareness, patient acquisition and retention through aesthetic practice development.
No special educational preparation is required for this CME activity.
