ABOUT THE MEETING

The meeting at the Wynn Las Vegas begins on April 12, 2010 with formal lectures scheduled throughout the day. (Registration will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 5:00 - 6:00 PM). Question and answer sessions complement the teaching program and provide for interaction between registrants and the faculty.

This symposium provides a practical, comprehensive review of the important aspects of clinical MRI/MRA of the head & spine. Physicians and technologists practicing neuroradiography utilizing MRI should expand their knowledge base and obtain additional information on safe and efficient scanning protocols. A special non-accredited segment of the program focuses on equipment comparisons and capabilities. Those registrants planning to purchase MRI equipment should find this Wednesday morning session particularly valuable as companies discuss their present capabilities and their plans for the future.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This CME activity is primarily intended and designed to educate those physicians who supervise and interpret neuroradiology MRI studies. Thus, it should be particularly helpful for radiologists, neurologists, and neurosurgeons. This CME activity should also be useful for referring physicians who order these studies so that they might gain a greater appreciation of the strengths and limitations of clinically relevant neuroradiography.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:

  • Describe expanded applications and pitfalls for MRI/MRA as it applies to neuroradiography
  • Recognize the MRI appearance of normal anatomy and common pathology
  • Incorporate protocols to effectively assess patients with CNS pathology
  • Discuss the clinical benefits of functional imaging, perfusion, and diffusion imaging techniques
  • Effectively assess stroke patients using MRI techniques
  • Incorporate state of the art imaging protocols and techniques for assessment of the spine into clinical practice

No special educational preparation is required for this CME activity.

COURSE ORGANIZATION

This program is planned and organized by Educational Symposia, the leader in diagnostic imaging education since 1975.
