This course provides a broad overview of breast imaging including screening basics, specialized views, interventions and advanced imaging techniques. Focus is placed on the applications of tomosynthesis, breast cancer assessment and management and the recent updates to the BI-RADS(R) lexicon. Screening guidelines, imaging the young patient, male patient, and ductography are also discussed. The course includes detailed case reviews to test skills learned and emphasize the lectures.

The course is designed for practicing radiologists who wish a comprehensive review and update of breast imaging and breast interventions. The course is also appropriate for radiology residents, fellows, and nurses involved in breast imaging.

Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:

  • Review the latest BI-RADS(R) 6 updates to enhance diagnostic accuracy and align reporting with current clinical standards.
  • Understand the approach to the management of the axilla, emphasizing collaboration between radiologists and breast surgeons.
  • Strengthen knowledge in mammography, ultrasound, and MRI with practical insights into screening, diagnostics, and common challenges.
  • Explore core interventions, including biopsies and localization techniques, and advanced interventions, such as cryoablation and laser ablation of tumors.
  • Learn best practices to optimize patient outcomes.
