This course will provide a thorough and practical overview of the more commonly encountered issues in surgical pathology of the gynecologic tract. Diagnostic entities, both routine and uncommon will be discussed alongside common issues such as immunohistochemistry, staging and molecular diagnostics. Attendees will have ample time following all sessions to discuss these entities and issues in an effort to find diagnostic solutions that are immediately applicable to everyday practice, without relying on esoteric or uncommon testing that may not be available in all practice settings. The casual atmosphere of the course (and course director) aims to promote discussion of these complex topics.

This course is designed to educate any surgical pathologist who commonly encounters gynecologic pathology in their daily practice. The practical approaches presented within the course are specifically targeted to be helpful to surgical pathologists who may not have access to advanced diagnostic testing at their own institutions.

Attendees should, at the completion of this course, be able to:

  • Confidently and efficiently approach routine lesions of the gynecologic tract
  • More easily generate and resolve differential diagnoses when encountering histologically ambiguous neoplastic entities
  • Accurately stage common neoplastic entities of the gynecologic tract
  • Utilize immunohistochemistry and molecular testing in an efficient manner to classify difficult entities
  • Describe the mechanistic pathways and identify the precursors of some of the more common gynecologic carcinomas

These new requirements apply to all those entering the UK by land, air and sea. All visitors, regardless of age, will require an ETA in order to be able to enter the country. Applications can be submitted in advance by paying the required fee, online at GOV.UK or through the UK ETA app, available on the Apple App store and Google Play. Please note it can take up to three business days for applications made online or via the apps to be approved. Once approved and issued, these ETA's last for two years or until the expiration of the passport, whichever comes first.
